It is For Us, but It is About God

During a recent discussion on this blog, we were talking about how some thought HWA’s writings may one day be part of the Bible. Frankly, I don’t believe that for various reasons that I won’t go into right now.

However, right around the time of that discussion, I had come across a blog of a person who is apparently going through the Bible in one year. That’s commendable, and I hope they not only do that this year but in subsequent years as well. The blog is The One Year Bible – A Journey I Am On. The article that caught my eye was posted 24 Sept called “A Whole New Perspective”. It is about Ep 3:10-11, which reads:

10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (Ephesians 3:10-11, King James Version)

The blog’s author, who goes by “greg”, wrote:

I had thoughts about Job recently and the fact that Job knew nothing of God’s dealings with Satan and how it pertained to Job’s circumstance. Could it be that even in our time – in our day – that all that God is doing in and through the church is for purposes that we cannot see? This beings a whole new perspective!

You know, there are things being worked out here on earth that we cannot see. It’s just a fact. It is often only at the end of a trial or a particular segment of our lives that we look back and realize that everything that has happened before has brought us to this point. How many things are being worked out that we don’t yet see?

I know that many of you are aware that even the angels are not told everything.

10Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. (1 Peter 1:10-12, King James Version)

Have you really pondered why this might be? Well, recently I have. Perhaps it is not a total answer, but I find it satisfactory for now.

You know, Christ said, “The Sabbath was made for man” (Mk 2:27). Think about it! The Sabbath is much more than a day off work. The Sabbath is a memorial to God’s creation! He is doing this for us! All of this!

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28, King James Version)

And just when did he choose us to come into His family?

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (Ephesians 1:3-4, King James Version)

The creation is for us!

But!… Why?

7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. (Isaiah 43:7, King James Version)

Just as having children gives glory and honor to human parents, our ultimate Parent receives glory when we enter His family!
