COGWriter Dr Robert Thiel wrote in the Church of God News blog article “PCG’s Gerald Flurry declares himself an apostle”:
I guess after “Weinland, Stumbling and Bumbling, but Outflanks and Outranks Flurry” with the Elijah title, he must’ve declared himself an apostle. So, it looks like Flurry is still playing catch-up in the titles game.
In all seriousness, though, what Flurry really needs to do is declare his repentance for squandering 3rd tithe money and not taking care of widows.
Thiel goes on to mention a couple other wannabe “apostles”: David Pack, William Dankenbring (really? Dankenbring?).
This would be funny if it were truly a comedy. I guess I need to make a “False Apostle” category next to “False Prophet” category now.
One thing I’m sure of in this game: The ones who claim to be apostles are the ones who are not. The ones who claim to be Philadelphian are the ones who are not. Talk is cheap. Jesus wants action. Jesus demands fruits borne out of righteousness.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
