Sometimes, the Truth Hurts

People can ask why so many would get turned off by religion and, in particular, the Church of God. However, the plain, honest truth is that different people leave for different reasons.

In some cases, though, it becomes quite clear why someone might leave. How many false prophets, false apostles and fake Christians do we have in the various COGs? I’m afraid that even within the most benign organizations are ravenous wolves.

However, sticking our heads in the sand won’t cure the problem.

15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (Matthew 7:15-16, King James Version)

Have you truly considered the ill effects of some of these upon the COGs? Upon our Christian example? Upon the message of Jesus?

Do you dare read a brutally honest opinion?

  1. To post a link to "Shadows" is bold in and of itself.

So I take it you won't be declaring yourself "Blogger-in-Chief and Spokesman for All" anytime soon?!

    Good. 🙂

  2. Bold? I dunno. Some will say it is "stupid", I'm sure. However, I feel obligated to keep pushing the envelope as far as our willingness to at least listen to someone on "the other side", if you will. That means philosophically, emotionally, theologically and logically. We need to build bridges instead of burning them all the time.

As far as titles go, something like "End-time Bloglijah" sounds more biblical, doesn't it? ;->
