The Christian Institute reported last week that "Trial begins of Christians who criticised Islam". They are charged with a public order offense for debating with a Muslim woman whether or not Jesus was the Son of God or just a prophet. The couple own a hotel, and the woman was a guest there. It was on the last night of her stay that the debate occurred. The guest claims she was offended, and she complained to police about it.
This is not happening in Tehran. This is not happening in Bagdad. This trial is in Liverpool!
Update: The charges were thrown out against the couple, but the question remains as to whether or not they can survive financially, seeing as they lost about 80% of their business after the allegations were made against them. It’s sad that it even went that far, though.
